Iniziativa Democratica is a dynamic non-governmental organization based in Italy, dedicated to empowering women, particularly those with fewer opportunities, through outdoor sports and activities. Established in 2011, ID leverages its extensive experience in European projects to create inclusive youth programs, including seminars, coaching, and hiking events. As the only official partner of the European association of Via Francigene in the Marche region, ID promotes the cultural route while fostering physical activity and health benefits through nature walks. The organization’s commitment to social inclusion is evident in its initiative, SSCP Hike Together, which encourages women to embrace hiking and trekking as natural forms of exercise. Recognized by the Italian State and the Marche Region, ID continues to lead efforts in promoting women’s participation in outdoor sports at local, national, and European levels.
